Just in time for the summer film season, MJR Digital Cinemas will reopen its latest theatre venue, located at 28600 Dequindre in Warren, on Friday. Over the last year, the facility, called MJR Universal Grand, was restored to house 16 screens equipped with electric reclining seats offering extra legroom, reserved seating, and other features.

The company, MJR Digital Cinemas in Bloomfield Hills, expects to draw over 500,000 movie-goers annually to the new Warren cinema.

“I expect theatre goers in Warren and the surrounding areas will be thrilled with what we have done with the theatre, and also enjoy the chance to view the latest movies as soon as they are released,” says Michael Mihalich, founder and chief executive officer of MJR.

Additionally, patrons will have the opportunity to enroll in the new MJR Premier Reward Program, which awards benefits for ticket and concession purchases, including a $5 credit for every $50 spent. Members will also receive 25 points when registering their card.

MJR Universal Grand will offer the Pepsi Spire machines, a digital soft drink fountain that allows users to personalize their beverages, with over 400 possible options. The renovated lobby will also include the MJR Studio Bar, where guests can enjoy beverages before the show, or take them to their seats.

All auditoriums will offer CaptiView Closed Caption Viewing System for the hearing impaired, and the Fidelio wireless audio system, which delivers descripted narration for the visually impaired.

Founded in Michigan in 1980, MJR offers a total to 164 screens at 10 locations. Showtimes and locations can be found here.
