Hour Media has launched MichTix, an online event ticketing platform that aims to help local businesses, organizations, and vendors sell event tickets and expand their audiences through a ticketing portal and marketing partnership. Clients who partner with the Troy-based service also receive localized customer service, cross promotion on Hour Detroit Magazine’s website, and access to the company’s private consumer database to better plan and promote upcoming events.
MichTix’s portal allows clients to sell tickets for a variety of events throughout southeast Michigan, including concerts, festivals, pop-up dinners, fundraisers, galas, theatre productions, brewery tours, and more. Additionally, promotional opportunities including calendar event listings on hourdetroit.com, inclusion in future event e-newsletters, cross promotion on Hour Detroit’s social media, and sharing on MichTix’s social media channels.
“We launched MichTix to be the go-to resource for the local community to find out about events and to also help organizations and event organizers sell tickets and manage their events,” says Hilary Notaro, account executive for MichTix. “When using MichTix you have a local customer service and support team behind you. MichTix’s current clients include: Beauty & Brawn Art Gallery, Branches Crew, Community Living Centers, Detroit Area Art Deco Society, Detroit Foundation Hotel, DetroitWick, Great Lakes Culinary Center, HAVEN, Hot Works Orchard Lake Fine Art Show, Judson Center, Love & Buttercream, Michigan Philharmonic, Sisters HOPE, Southfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Steward Media, and the Detroit Ice Cream Co. DBusiness Magazine, Hour Detroit, and Detroit Home also use MichTix to sell tickets to their events.
Customer accounts feature an interactive seating chart that allows event-goers to choose their own seats in real time, a fully-secured, PCI compliant, two-part tokenization for transactions, responsive design, and high-volume capabilities through Amazon Web Services.
MichTix offers competitive pricing, with rates generally lower than national ticket-sellers including Ticketmaster and Live Nation. The merchant processing rate is 1.9 percent, compared with the national average of 2.5-2.9 percent. Hour Media is the parent company of DBusiness, Hour Detroit, Detroit Home, Weddings.
