Western Michigan-based Natural American Foods, which produces and distributes honey and other food products, has created a new subsidiary that will source, test, and deliver fully traceable natural ingredients to retail, food service, and commercial ingredient customers.
The new division, called Global Quality Ingredients Inc., will source honey, molasses, and agave, as well as oils and nuts, from all over the world, says Rolf Richter, CEO of Natural American Foods.
“With operations at Global Quality Ingredients well underway, we look forward to continuously sourcing the highest quality natural food products, on a global basis, for our loyal customer base,” Richter says.
The new subsidiary, based in Onsted, will be led by Chris Nubern, the company’s chief procurement officer.
Earlier this year, Natural American Foods, which has producing honey under the Miller’s American brand for nearly 120 years, was acquired by an affiliate of Austin, Texas-based private equity firm Peak Rock Capital.
