More than 80 employers from across the state will seek to fill more than 800 positions using an innovative matchmaking format during the Pure Michigan DreamJob summit on June 13 at Ford Field in downtown Detroit.

Participating companies include Quicken Loans, Whirlpool, Bosch, Lear, Delphi, Nissan, McCann Erickson, Roush, and Microsoft. The employers are seeking candidates for positions in a wide range of fields such as engineering, design, project management, supply chain management, finance, operations, sales, marketing, and software development.

Prior to the event, employers will post jobs to an event-specific web portal, where candidates can create online profiles and submit applications related to areas of interests. From there, the Michigan Economic Development Corp. will work the employers to select which applicants qualify for a series of 20-minute interviews throughout the day.

“Talent is the new currency in economic development and the surest way to grow our economy,” said Michael Finney, president and CEO of MEDC. “Pure Michigan DreamJobs is an innovative way to match the talent needs of Michigan companies with people who can provide experience, capabilities, and energies companies require to succeed. At the same time, it means new job opportunities for our people who can bring highly valued talents to many of the best names in Michigan business.”

The summit will also include information about living in Michigan, tours of downtown workspaces, a networking reception, and an opportunity to attend a Tigers game.

“This is a showcase opportunity for all that makes Michigan a great place to live, work, build a business and enjoy our unique quality of life,” Gov. Rick Snyder said.
