The Michigan Economic Development Corp.’s community development (CD) team today announced the launch of a website, miplace.org, which features content and documents for communities, developers, and individuals interested in redevelopment, placemaking, crowdfunding, and more.

“Our goals with miplace.org were to increase awareness of the great places in our communities, provide knowledge for those communities to make their places better, and to make it easier to access the tools and programs we offer to help,” says Katharine Czarnecki, the MEDC’s senior vice president of CD.

CD programs including Redevelopment Ready Communities, Michigan Main Street, and Public Spaces, Community Places are also present on the website, and the online resource library allows access to hundreds of documents and other reference materials.

Developers can find information on current projects, development opportunities, and what re-development currently looks like across Michigan. Users can also find information regarding training and events that are scheduled statewide, and find additional resources relevant to many state programs, including Adopt-a-Highway, Brownfield Michigan Business Tax Credits, certified local government grants, and more.
