Making Michigan Innovation Expo Coming to Oakland University on Friday

Manufacturers across Michigan are invited to explore the future of manufacturing at the Re: Making Michigan Innovation Expo, hosted by the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC) and Automation Alley on Friday.

The event will focus on accelerating technology adoption and digital transformation in the manufacturing sector, provide hands-on learning opportunities, expert insights, and a range of discussions on the integration and implementation of AI, automation, and Industry 4.0 technologies.

Attendees also will receive expert guidance on best practices and funding strategies for implementing Industry 4.0 solutions.

“Technology is the key to advancing Michigan’s manufacturing leadership,” says Ingrid Tighe, president of MMTC. “The Re: Making Michigan Innovation Expo is a space for manufacturers to not only learn about emerging technologies, but also connect with industry leaders, gain actionable insights, and take the next steps toward implementation.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from distinguished guests, including U.S. Sen. Gary Peters, U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens, and Amy Rencher from the MEDC, alongside local manufacturing leaders.

The event will feature a keynote presentation by Pugal Janakiraman, global manufacturing CTO of Snowflake, as well as a panel discussion that includes Greta Cutulenco, CEO of Acerta, Janakiraman, Kevin Kerwin, CEO of Detect-It, and Dr. Guangzhi Qu, professor and chair of CSE at Oakland University.

The event is free to attend, and lunch will be provided. All attendees will be entered into a drawing for a free 3-D printer.

The Expo will be held at the Oakland University Research and Innovation Center, 2871 Research Dr., in Rochester Hills. The events goes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
