Majorel, a provider of next-generation end-to-end customer experience solutions for brands around the world, will be opening an office in downtown Detroit in the coming months.

The company will hire approximately 200 full-time employees to start and has plans to grow to 500-plus employees at their soon-to-be-announced location. Majorel selected Detroit out of more than 50 other cities.

Employees will fill roles in customer service, human resources, and operations at levels ranging from entry-level to manager. The company cited a diverse talent pool and an extensive network of colleges, universities, and trade schools for moving into the region.

In addition, Majorel will be hosting a job fair today through Sunday. Positions start at $17 per hour with benefits.

The job fair will take place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, in the Ontario Exhibit Hall, West Level 3, of the Renaissance Center, 400 Renaissance Drive West. Some applicants will be hired on the spot.

Workers with interest or experience in social media, customer service, and technology are asked to bring a resume to the job fair. Training and education will be made available to employees, so lengthy experience is not required but encouraged.

“We selected Detroit due to the positive impact we believe we can make on the community as we bring hundreds of new jobs to residents,” says Gus Gikas, vice president of operations for North America at Majorel. “We look forward to providing our future staff with extensive training and education as we support them with career development opportunities.”

Majorel’s Detroit office will open virtually in April, with workers eventually moving into its offices downtown.

After the job fair, Majorel will partner with Detroit at Work to help place Detroiters in positions. For more information, visit www.detroitatwork.com/majorel to apply.

“I would like to thank Majorel, not only for choosing Detroit, but for ensuring that residents of this city have a chance at filling these good-paying jobs,” says Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan. “To have a company that does business in 35 countries choose Detroit speaks volumes about our city’s future and the opportunity that we are creating here for our city’s residents.”

That sentiment was shared by Council President Mary Sheffield, who said: “We are excited to see the career opportunities Majorel will be providing for Detroit residents. We appreciate their investment in utilizing our qualified and talented community members and look forward to building an efficient and equitable working relationship in the future.”

Since March 2021, the Detroit Regional Partnership worked to attract Majorel to southeast Michigan by conducting a virtual tour of the region and providing workforce data and analysis to inform their site selection process.

“We’re excited to have this innovative customer experience company land in the Detroit Region, leading the way with its cutting-edge digital solutions,” says Maureen Donohue Krauss, president and CEO of the Detroit Regional Partnership.

“Majorel’s announcement is a great win, they could have located anywhere in the country, but they chose Detroit. It further cements the city and our region as a technology hub that is competing with traditional tech markets nationwide.”

Majorel designs, builds, and delivers next-generation end-to-end customer experience (CX) solutions for multiple brands. The company has operations in 35 countries across five continents, and has more than 66,800 employees. For more information, visit www.majorel.com.
