Mad Nice in Midtown Detroit, one of the restaurants that’s part of Heirloom Hospitality, has announced the opening of Mad Nice Goods on Nov. 15. Mad Nice and Mad Nice Goods are located at 4120 2nd Ave. in Detroit (at W. Alexandrine Street).
The all-day gathering spot will offer guests an array of food, coffee, cocktails, and unique retail goods. The intimate 850-square-foot space, which also includes a bar that opens to two private dining rooms, is attached to Mad Nice and can be accessed from both inside and outside the restaurant.
Mad Nice Goods will lean heavily into the Mad Nice culinary team, led by Executive Chef Myles McVay, following the blend of modern Italian specialties and California vibes. Menu highlights include house made pastries, naturally leavened wood-fired bagels, and offered for Takeaway exclusively: Detroit-style “Nonna’s” pizza, lasagna, and sandwiches featuring homemade sourdough bread.
In addition to food and drink, Mad Nice Goods will offer more than 200 curated retail items featuring a mix of local and global artists. Products include home décor, gifts, candles, coffee table books, art, custom made tabletop games, and collectible figures.
Culinary items range from award-winning olive oil, aesthetic salt and pepper grinders, and serving pieces and other house made and sourced treats. There also are plans to offer limited production, bespoke garments that are handcrafted in the United States and inspired by the changing seasons and brand pillars of Detroit, Italy, and California.
“In creating Mad Nice Goods, I wanted to offer the community a place to gather and call its own. The vibe just ebbs and flows throughout the day, no pretenses required; just come make yourself at home here” says Jeremy Sasson, CEO of Heirloom Hospitality in Detroit. “With exceptional food, drinks, and playfully curated retail items, it is a compilation of all the things we love.”
In celebration of the grand opening, Mad Nice Goods will offer a complimentary latte or coffee drink to all guests Wednesday through Friday, Nov. 15 to 17. In addition, both Mad Nice and Mad Nice Goods are offering a 10 percent off all online orders for pickup or delivery placed directly through Mad Nice in the month of November. Access madnicedetroit.com and use code NOV10 at checkout.
Made Nice Goods is open Mon. and Tues. from 4 p.m. – late night and Wed. through Sun. from 8 a.m. to late night.
