Construction has begun on 10 luxury townhouse condominiums called The Oaks Residences at 700 E. Parent St. in Royal Oak. The $5 million development, located southeast of downtown near Lawson Park, is slated for completion in summer 2020.
The development will feature private rooftop patios, green space, two-car garages, and 2,000-square-foot living spaces. Each will include an open floor plan, three bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, and be programmed for smart-home technology. Units also will have libraries or office spaces, balconies, lofted 10-foot ceilings, quartz counters, and NEST thermostats.
“We’re really excited to bring modern townhome-style properties to market,” says Eric Walstrom, managing partner with Royal Oak’s Alexander Real Estate. “We see this styling and design appealing to a wide variety of buyers looking to be near Royal Oak and maintain all the amenities of a new single-family home.”
The project is being led by The Wirt-Rivette Group in Saginaw, developers with residential projects in Grand Rapids, and Alexander Real Estate. Formerly, the project site had an abandoned home and a closed landscaping business.
Unit sales begin this month, and prices start at $550,000. Alexander Real Estate will host an open house from 4-7 p.m. on Sept. 26 at its 431 N. Main Royal Oak office that will showcase amenities, selection options, and floor plans.
