Lululemon Athletica, a Canadian technical athletic apparel retailer, will open its renovated space, which has also been expanded to roughly 4,000 square feet, in Somerset Collection South in Troy on Aug. 16.
Renovations to the company’s Somerset location, which is moving from its previous space on the collection’s North side, include a dedicated 800-square-foot men’s section, an expanded women’s pant wall, and other improvements.
“The entire store will have a new open floor plan, modern feel, and (be) reflective of the community,” says Sara Webster, mid-Atlantic area community manager.
Along with its expanded selection of merchandise, the new store will also feature a layout of photographs showcasing the store’s six Lululemon Ambassadors — a rotating selection of fitness instructors and leaders in metro Detroit — and a rotating photo wall featuring work from local photographers, such as Hayden Stinebaugh.
The new location will also feature a dedicated space near the front of the store with tables, chairs, and equipment for recharging electronic devices; and an interactive digital community board, which will spotlight local gyms, studios, running routes, events, and more.
“We pride ourselves on being a yoga and athletic brand, so partnering with local studios and gyms is our genuine way to build authentic relationships and learn more about what the community loves, wants, and needs from its local businesses,” Webster says.
The hours of the new location are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
