After opening seafood-centric restaurant Voyager in Ferndale in March, proprietor Eli Boyer will be collaborating with chefs Justin Tootla and Jennifer Jackson to open Lovers Only restaurant in Detroit’s Capitol Park in 2018.

Located at the corner of Griswold Street and Grand River Avenue, the restaurant will serve hamburgers, sandwiches, and other fare in a fast-casual setting.

“Our ambition is to create a true experience within the fast-casual space, through heartfelt hospitality, thoughtful service, and other layers that are often disregarded in similar restaurants,” says Boyer. “That warmth and level of care is our greatest differentiator, and we aim to carry it with us to Lovers Only. I could not be more thrilled to continue working with Jennifer and Justin on another project, and we’re so excited to share the experience with Detroit.”

Restaurant design is currently underway and the team envisions a Wes Anderson vibe, driven by bright colors, mid-century modern design, and contemporary elements. While Ferndale is a good fit for Voyager, Boyer, Tootla, and Jackson chose the location for Lovers Only because Capitol Park is a “booming neighborhood” and brings the opportunity to explore a different food scene.

Lovers Only will be located at 34 West Grand River. The restaurant is slated to open in early 2018.
