A magnet manufacturer and distributer in Livonia has developed a patent pending seasonal air solutions product that is like a “mask” for buildings in filtering out air particles efficiently and affordably.

Airotrust, a division of Storch Products Co. Inc., has developed an efficient and affordable line of air filter housing that magnetically attach to a standard 2-foot-by-2 foot ceiling tile grid, an industry standard in many commercial and office buildings.

The “Made in the USA” product can be used by industrial manufacturers, educational facilities, nursing homes, health care facilities, office complexes, beauty salons, restaurants, or any employers or spaces that experience pollen, dust, lint, dust mites, debris, pet dander, car fumes, tobacco smoke, bacteria, virus carriers, small allergens and any other harmful debris that are airborne and can easily get into an HVAC system.

The product can help companies comfortably welcome employees back to the office in the age of COVID-19 with a safer office environment designed to limit the number of foreign air particles that can lead to viruses and other issues while being used in conjunction with other PPE.

The Airotrust 2×2 housing unit works with any standard air filter of that size. The product offers standard filter options from U.S. manufacturers ranging from MERV 6 to an extreme MERV 15 to meet specific customer needs. MERV is an industry standard used to evaluate the efficiency of an air filter based on its effectiveness at trapping particles of various sizes.

The housing unit is equipped with high energy rare earth magnets, allowing it to snap into place over the ceiling grid in seconds without the need for any tools. The offering of filters will fit snugly into the Airotrust housing, which is made from a durable, high impact polystyrene. The unit is designed for durability and is intended to last for many years of service.

In turn, all Airotrust housing units replaceable filter options are both manufactured in the United States.

The units will be commercially ready for delivery by early September 2020. Pre-orders can be placed at www.airotrust.com to ensure expedited delivery once the filters are commercially available. Turn Key packages start at under $200 and replacement filters are affordable with an optional subscription service for customer convenience.

“This is like a mask for a building,” says Matt Carr, president of Airotrust. “Additionally companies can spend tens of thousands of dollars on a system that no one can visually see and that many will question wither it has been properly maintained. This reasonably priced product gives peace of mind to everyone who sees it.”

Carr, who also serves as President for Storch Products in Livonia, said that within his network, he has found that other manufacturers are struggling to bring back some of their employees during the COVID-19 pandemic because of the worry of contagion.

“Whatever filters you use can now be installed directly over desks or common areas where a supply side vent or cold air return is present, and can help filter particles helping many companies get back on track to normal operations,” Carr says.

While the product was designed following the start of the pandemic, having these air filters strategically placed around a manufacturing or office setting can free indoor air from particles that trigger allergies, asthma, and other health conditions.
