Olympia Entertainment has announced details surrounding Little Caesars Arena Preview Week, which will take place Sept. 5-10 leading up to the arena’s grand opening. The future home of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons will celebrate an official grand opening on Sept. 12 as singer and musician Kid Rock plays his first of six shows at the venue.

A ceremonial ribbon cutting is slated for Tuesday, Sept. 5., to be attended by community members and others involved in planning, designing, and constructing the arena. The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. and be live streamed on The District Detroit’s website (DistrictDetroit.com). The district is a 50-block area that includes the new arena.

On Friday, Sept. 8, Ilitch Charities will host Little Caesars Arena’s first charity fundraising event, Hard Hats and Helping Hands. Ilitch Charities is a non-profit organization that invests in the community through innovative, collaborative, and measurable programs.

Hard Hats and Helping Hands will offer attendees an inside look at Little Caesars Arena along with access to unique areas throughout the venue, a self-guided tour through clubs, bars, and player-only areas, and more.

A community sneak peek will be held on Friday, Sept. 9, where the general public is invited to tour the Via inside Little Caesars Arena Via at no cost from 2-8 p.m. (registration required). The tour will highlight the building’s deconstructed design concept, center hung scoreboard, and projection screen surrounding the arena bowl.

The second annual Hockeytown 5K will round out the festivities on Sunday, Sept. 10, taking participants throughout Detroit and concluding on Woodward Avenue outside Little Caesars Arena. Registration begins at $50 and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Detroit Red Wings Foundation.

“We can’t wait to share the many engaging, memorable spaces, and innovative technologies that will allow Little Caesars Arena to provide one of the greatest fan experiences in all of sports and entertainment,” says Christopher Ilitch, president and CEO of Ilitch Holdings Inc.

Additionally, Preview Week will include private tours for Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons season ticket holders, partners, and suite holders. More information can be found here.
