Brighton-based KSI Kitchen and Bath, a kitchen and bath design firm in southeast Michigan, has announced it will acquire Starlite Kitchens, a Grand Rapids-based kitchen and bath design center. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We’re very excited to welcome Starlite Kitchens into the KSI family of kitchen and bath design centers,” says Tony Achatz, president and CEO of KSI. “Their commitment to excellence and creating a superior customer experience is a natural fit for KSI and our vision to be the most recommended provider for creating spaces in the home that people will love.”

With 50 years in the business, KSI has expanded from one location in Brighton to eight that reach western Michigan, southeast Michigan, and northern Ohio. The acquisition “is the first building block in a planned growth strategy,” Achatz says, adding that KSI is open to exploring more opportunities with other companies in the future.

KSI and Starlite Kitchens will share best practices to complement their respective strengths to best support customers in the areas of kitchen and bath design, and cabinetry. The acquisition marks KSI’s first design center in west Michigan, says Bryan Tolles, principal at KSI.

Starlite Kitchens is currently a member of KBx, the largest cabinet and countertop dealer-distributor organization in America. Starlite Kitchens will continue to operate under the Starlite brand as part of the KSI family of design centers.

“After evaluating many options, a sale to KSI Kitchen and Bath was the best choice to provide Starlite’s employees, customers and vendors with the most opportunity for continued growth,” says Starlite Principal Rog Bronsink.

Starlite was founded in 2000.
