A former co-owner of Forte Belanger, a popular catering operation in metro Detroit, along with his wife, have launched a home goods, paper products, and gifts online store called June & December. The products have a Michigan-made focus.

“With Michigan’s rich manufacturing history and strong manufacturing base, we are able to deliver American-made quality while supporting our community at the same time,” says Nick Forte, co-owner with his wife, Katie. “We’re thrilled to be working with several local manufacturers that share our commitment to handcrafting high-quality products as we create our textile and paper goods.”

Merchandise includes dozens of selections, including kitchen towels, pillow covers, notepads, stationary, desk pads, postcards, stamps, prints, and treat bags.

The couple’s individual talents pair well in the new business — Katie is an artist and graphic designer who often reaches back to her rustic country upbringing, while Nick is a former event planner who has a passion for cooking and a dedication to reviving personal, old-fashioned customer service.

The couple is searching for a brick and mortar location. In the meantime, they will be participating in a series of local pop-ups and shows including the Spring Artists’ Market at Leon & Lulu in Clawson.

Their products are also found in retail stores such as Rail and Anchor in Royal Oak, Black Lamb in Grand Rapids, and Dancing Eye Gallery in Northville.
