Jackson-based TelePREOP, a company that has developed a namesake video streaming medical platform to manage the workflows for pre-operative, post-operative, and transitional management of patients, has partnered with the University Health Shreveport hospital, a partner of the Louisiana State University School of Medicine.

As part of the collaboration, the hospital will use the TelePREOP platform to prepare its patients for surgery and to identify health and genetic issues that may affect a patient’s after care.

“We are thrilled to offer the TelePREOP platform to our patients and providers to help identify patient health issues prior to surgery,” says Dr. Charles Fox, chairman of the LSU Department of Anesthesiology. “Additionally, the combined teams of University Health and TelePREOP will perform follow-up work that will help transition these patients back to their home setting.”

To assist with opioid abuse in patients, TelePREOP has also incorporated pharmacogenetic testing programs into its platform.

“Our program is available to all perioperative settings and we continue to work with academic medical centers, as well as large health systems, and community hospitals around the country,” says Tony Mira, CEO of TelePREOP.

He says the company’s platform is designed to streamline the process among surgeons, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and anesthetists.
