Iron Mountain’s Systems Control Acquired by Connecticut Company

Systems Control in Iron Mountain in the Upper Peninsula has been acquired by Hubbell Inc., a manufacturer of utility and electrical solutions in Connecticut. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Systems Control provides substation control and relay panels, customized turnkey substation control building solutions, and engineering services to utilities in the electric transmission and distribution industry. Its products protect and control substation infrastructure while detecting faults and controlling the flow of electricity.

Since 2018, Systems Control has expanded its Iron Mountain manufacturing facility, developed multi-site production capabilities, and made investments in information technology systems, human capital development, and sales and marketing.

Kenny Nickens, vice president at Florida-based investment firm Comvest, which owned Systems Control, says: “Comvest invested in Systems Control in partnership with management with a shared vision of scaling the company as a best-in-class turnkey provider of end-to-end substation control solutions. We are proud of the great relationship we built with the Systems Control team and the successes we achieved together.”

Hubbell says its utility and electrical solutions enable customers to operate critical infrastructure safely, reliably, and efficiently. It had 2022 revenue of $4.9 billion.
