Peloton, a New York City-based company that offers an at-home, technology-focused cycling bike, is opening a showroom today at the Somerset Collection in Troy.

“We are expanding our retail portfolio, and Detroit is a market where there is limited access to really high-quality, indoor boutique fitness,” says Tim Shannehan, CRO of Peloton.

The new 1,800-square-foot showroom, located on the North side of Somerset, features a clean and minimal aesthetic with four to six Peloton bikes, which start at just under $2,000 and are equipped with a 22-inch touchscreen that streams live and on-demand fitness classes.

“The showroom gives customers the opportunity to come in, try the bike, put headphones on, really engage in the content, see how smooth the bike is, and really understand the full experience,” Shannehan says.

The company’s showroom also offers a selection of fitness and lifestyle apparel and bike accessories, such as Peloton-branded bike shoes, weights, headphones, heart-rate monitors, and more.

The store, which is the company’s first facility in metro Detroit, will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Founded in 2012, Peloton also has showrooms in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York City, Dallas, and more.
