Huron Capital Partners, a Detroit-based middle market private equity firm, has sold its stake in California’s Pacific Shoring, a manufacturer of trench safety equipment, to Palm Peak Capital. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Huron Capital partnered with Salt Creek Capital and CEO Bruce Russell to invest in the business in 2019.  Over the past five years, the scale and profitability of the company grew through strategic add-ons including Xterra Trench Shields in Houston and EZE Shore in the United Kingdom; as well as product line extensions and investments in new systems and automation.

“We are grateful to have had the opportunity to work closely with Bruce and the Salt Creek team to build Pacific Shoring into a leader within its industry through a series of accretive add-ons and a series of strategic growth initiatives,” says Brian Demkowicz, founding partner and chairman of Huron Capital. “Under Bruce’s leadership, we believe the business is very well positioned for continued growth and success.”

Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Santa Rosa, Calif., Pacific Shoring specializes in a regulatory-driven niche, manufacturing trench safety products used by contractors to protect their workforce when working in trenches for infrastructure projects including water utility pipes, telecom fiber, gas and electric, and other underground building or maintenance jobs.

Pacific Shoring’s products are sold at approximately 280 dealer locations across North America, Australia, and Europe to large, high quality equipment rental companies.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the partnership and support provided by Salt Creek Capital and Huron Capital over the past years, which has enabled us to achieve significant growth and an expanded market presence,” says Russell.

“We now serve North America from our two production plants and North Carolina distribution facility, as well as Europe and Australia.  My team and I are excited to partner with Palm Peak as we further expand our market reach and continue delivering innovative solutions for trench safety.”
