Humanetics Innovative Solutions, a global supplier of automotive crash test dummies, has moved its headquarters to an updated facility in Farmington Hills.

Located 10 miles north of the company’s former headquarters, the new 100,000-square-foot facility was customized to meet Humanetics needs for manufacturing, engineering, calibration, software development, corporate administrative functions, and consolidating all Michigan-based operations into one location.

Humanetics’ headquarters is also equipped with new ergonomic workstations and multi-media collaboration spaces for more than 200 employees, as well as a dozen conference rooms and communication technology.

An updated calibrated test lab was also installed to improve efficiency and daily operations. Test fixtures such as the thorax and neck pendulum stands, as well as additional data acquisition systems are being added to increase overall capacity and eliminate bottlenecks.

“We hope the headquarters will be the new home for a diverse range of future engineers, software developers, technician, and other professionals,” says Christopher J. O’Connor, president and CEO of Humanetics. “The added space will provide more room for spare parts inventory, enhance operational efficiency and productivity, and improve overall services and deliveries for our customers.”

Humanetics employees will also have access to an on-site fitness center, casual cafes, and a jogging trail surrounded by green landscapes as part of the company’s commitment to a better work-life balance. The new space will also allow Humanetics to host customer visits and product trainings, and expand their existing product portfolio.

Humanetics employs 650 people at 19 facilities worldwide and serves OEMs and Tier 1 safety suppliers in the automotive, aviation, energy, medical, military, and civil infrastructure industries.
