‘Hockeyfest’ Provides Ice Breaker for Red Wings Fans on Sunday

Detroit Red Wings players Johan Franzen, Darren Helm, Jimmy Howard and others will join Wings alumni including Ted Lindsay as well as Fox Sports Detroit TV personalities on Sunday for HockeyFest — a chance for fans to tour the team’s locker room, meet and chat with players, and participate in other hockey-related activities.

“HockeyFest has become a great kick-off event for our fans to meet and interact with our current players and alumni before the start of the season,” says Jim Biewer, event and experiential marketing manager for the Red Wings.

In addition to autograph sessions, fans will have a chance to participate in various games and pick-up hockey stations on the covered ice and around the concourse at Joe Louis Arena.

“One of the most exciting aspects of HockeyFest is watching fans test their hockey skills at interactive games alongside their favorite Red Wings,” Biewer says.

Participating alumni include Ted Lindsay, Darren McCarty,
 Larry Murphy,
 Chris Osgood, and
 Jason Woolley.

General admission adult tickets are $20, while tickets for those 12 and under are $10. For more information, click here.
