Henry Ford Health in Detroit Adds Jerry Norcia to Board of Directors

Gerardo “Jerry” Norcia, chairman and CEO of DTE Energy in Detroit, was named to the board of directors of Henry Ford Health in Detroit.

Norcia has been CEO of DTE Energy since 2019. Prior to his current role, Norcia oversaw operations and development at DTE, having served as president and COO, as well as president of DTE Gas and DTE Electric.

“Jerry’s extraordinary leadership and deep understanding of complex organizational operations make him an invaluable addition to our board,” says Bob Riney, president and CEO of Henry Ford Health. “His strategic vision and commitment to community development in the energy sector align perfectly with our mission at Henry Ford Health.”

Norica’s appointment comes as Henry Ford is preparing to start a major expansion of its primary academic medical campus in Detroit, including a new high-tech patient tower and reimagined, modernized emergency department.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Norcia is an active community leader. He co-chairs the United Way Campaign Cabinet and serves on the board of trustees of The Skillman Foundation in Detroit, which is dedicated to the welfare and prosperity of children in the city.

Norcia’s serves on the boards of Business Leaders for Michigan, the Detroit Regional Partnership, and the Downtown Detroit Partnership. He also serves on the boards of the American Gas Association, Edison Electric Institute, Nuclear Energy Institute, and the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations.

Norcia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Windsor, complementing his professional experience.
