Plymouth Township-based automotive lighting and electronics supplier HELLA today announced a new administrative and technical center will open in Northville Township at the beginning of 2019. The facility will offer 115,000-square-feet of space and will accommodate the company’s continued growth and provide flexibility to adapt to marketplace shifts in the future.
The facility will replace HELLA’s current U.S. headquarters three miles away in Plymouth Township, and the number of employees is expected to grow from 350-400 in the next two years. The company will focus on developing electronics products and lighting technology solutions, and the location will also house purchasing, sales, finance, and information management personnel.
“With the new location, we will create an important foundation for further pursuing our growth path in the North American market,” says Steve Lietaert, president of HELLA Corporate Center USA. “We will have more space for required additional resources while also being able to further optimize the work environment for our employees.”
HELLA’s new location will also provide flexible and open office concepts and updated equipment, project rooms, meeting areas, and a lounge, a cafeteria, and fitness spaces for employees. The company has partnered with Redico, Biddison Architecture and Design, and Amson Development.
HELLA currently employs 38,000 worldwide and operates 125 locations in 35 countries.
