Hästens, a Swedish bed-making company, has opened its largest location in the world in the center of downtown Birmingham. The store is also the company’s first exclusive retail location in Michigan.
Located at 100 S. Old Woodward (southwest corner of S. Old Woodward and Maple Road), the store will feature bed models and a line of sleep accessories.
Along with beds, Hästens offers pillows, down quilts, bed linen, headboards and headboard covers, bed legs, mattress covers, sleepwear, blankets, slippers, and a plush horse for children named Toto. The showroom will have 18 beds arranged throughout the two levels.
“Birmingham is long-recognized as a Michigan metropolis for luxury and high-end shopping,” says David Orlando, Detroit manager for Hästens. “Its affluent feel and vibrant atmosphere make it the perfect place to launch the world’s largest Hästens store.”
Hästens has been in business since 1852 and is active in 36 countries with more than 200 partners in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Its beds are handmade with natural materials. The company recently launched its first digital app, Hästens restore, which aims to help people adjust their mindset and mood through music.
