Halla Visteon Climate Control Corp., a majority-owned subsidiary of the Van Buren Township-based Visteon Corp., has announced the start of manufacturing operations at a plant in Togliatti, Russia. While the automotive supplier has 34 manufacturing sites supported by four global technical centers in 18 countries, this is the company’s first facility in Russia.

The new plant is part of HVCC’s plans to drive continued growth of its climate business and supports expanding customer needs in Russia.

“We are excited about the capability this new facility offers,” says Nurdal Kücükkaya, president of HVCC in Europe. “It is ideally located to supply vehicle manufacturers in one of Russia’s most important automotive clusters. Our presence in Russia strengthens our ability to respond to the ongoing demand for climate products and to meet local content requirements.”

The Russian facility began assembling cooling modules, as well as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units in early August. The number of employees is anticipated to reach nearly 300 over the next three years.
