The Great Lakes Design and Construction Expo 2020, a new collaboration between the Construction Association of Michigan and the Home Builders Association of Southeastern Michigan, will take place Feb. 12-13, 2020 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. The event replaces individual shows hosted by both organizations.

The event will be the state’s largest construction industry event and bring together residential and commercial designers, contractors, suppliers, and service providers for networking, safety training, and workshops. Thousands of industry professionals are expected to attend.

More than 150 exhibitors will showcase innovations in technology, products, and services.

“While there are differences between those involved in residential construction and those involved in commercial construction, there are many areas where our interests intersect,” says Michael Stoskopf, CEO of the Home Builders Association. “By combining our efforts to present the new expo, we will be providing value and opportunity that exceeds the scope of what we have offered in the past.”

For the past nine years, the two organizations have partnered to present a joint Mid-Year Economic Forecast.

“The success of our partnership on the Mid-Year Economic Forecast led to our decision to bring together CAM’s Michigan Construction and Design Tradeshow and HBA’s Great Lakes Builders Show to create the expo,” says Kevin Koehler, president of the Construction Association of Michigan.

The expo will also host the Construction Association of Michigan’s 134th annual meeting, the Home Builders Association of Southeastern Michigan’s board of directors meeting, and an Economic Forecast Breakfast featuring keynote speaker Robert Dietz, chief economist for the National Association of Home Builders in Washington, D.C.

There is no charge to attend the expo. It will be open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Feb. 12 and from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Feb. 13. Fees may apply for additional meetings and workshops. Credentials will be mailed to those who register before Jan. 31, 2020, and on-site registration will be available after that.
