SpartanNash Co., a Grand Rapids-based grocery distribution company, has reached an agreement to acquire Indiana’s Martin’s Super Markets, a chain of more than 20 stores across northern Indiana and southwest Michigan. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Martin’s operates 21 stores across northern Indiana and southwest Michigan. For the fiscal year ended July 29, the company had more than $450 million in net sales.

SpartanNash serves customers in all 50 states, as well as in Europe, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Bahrain, Djibouti, and Egypt. It operates nearly 140 supermarkets and is also a distributor of grocery products to U.S. military commissaries.

Martin’s was founded in 1947 and also operates 17 in-store pharmacies, as well as a pharmacy at Saint Joseph Health System, a convenience store, and a café.
