Grand Rapids-based Bissell plans to launch Barkbath Dual Use, the newest and quietest addition in the company’s line of portable dog bathing systems. The product also can be used as a deep cleaner for carpeting and upholstery.

The device offers three customizable spray nozzles to use based on fur length to clean down to dogs’ skin. This allows water and shampoo to wash the coat clean while a soft suction pulls dirt and water into a water tank.

The solution uses 68 ounces of water, or a little more than half a gallon, to clean an 80-pound dog. A traditional bathtub can use up to 19 gallons of water.

“The new Barkbath Dual Use is the first two-in-one portable dog wash and deep cleaner,” says Stacy Silk, senior brand manager for Bissell. “This portable all-in-one system can be used to wash your dog in any room of the house, anytime, with minimal mess and can also be used to clean up the messes that your dog or other family members may leave behind on carpets, rugs, and upholstery.”

The device is slated to be ready for shipping in December and will have a suggested retail price of $199.99.
