Tech leaders from Google, Yahoo, Bing, and Verve will participate in a summit next week for local small business owners in Detroit with a focus on innovation, technology, and expertise in digital marketing.
The Local Breakthrough Summit, a nationwide touring summit held by Atlanta-headquartered marketing provider YP, will be held June 15 at The Garden Theater in Detroit’s Midtown district, located at 3929 Woodward Ave., and feature an array of speakers, seminars, and networking opportunities.
“We’ve heard from local business owners time and again that they want to grow, but they aren’t sure about the best way to do it,” says Allison Checchi, chief marketing officer at YP. “On top of that, they want to make sure that whatever they do, they’re able to understand what’s working and why. Attendees of the YP Local Breakthrough Summit have told us these events have armed them with those insights — that they’ve learned what it takes to succeed in today’s digital marketplace and beyond.”
During the summit, Bill Maslyn, director of product at YP; Tyler Johansson, strategic partner manager at Google; Faith Murphy, senior director of small business partner development at Yahoo; and Lori Klamo, central region sales director for Bing, will give a panel presentation on search technology.
Megan Stillerman, vice president of reseller client services at Verve, will present information on mobile marketing, while small business expert Ramon Ray will give the event’s keynote presentation on rules businesses can follow to thrive in today’s sharing economy.
