A co-branded TV commercial for Fiat Brand North and Godzilla will begin airing today, with a special extended version on FiatUSA.com. The 30-second television slot follows Godzilla — who has a taste for Fiat vehicles — and its quest for a yellow four-door Fiat 500L.
“As one of the year’s most anticipated films prepares to hit movie screens, we wanted to think big like the Fiat 500L, and what’s bigger than Godzilla,” says Olivier Francois, spokesman for Chrysler Group and Fiat Group Automobiles. “There’s no escaping that, whether appetites run for a sporty Fiat 500C, the small but wicked Abarth, or the four-door Fiat 500L, there is a Fiat for every taste.”
The commercial leads up to the May 16 release of Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ take on the Godzilla story and will be complemented by the “Fiat Godzilla Giveaway,” which launches on Friday. As part of the social media campaign, fans who “like” Fiat USA and visit the giveaway tab on Facebook will be entered into a daily sweepstakes, with the chance to win movie passes and concessions.
At the end of the month, fans can play the “San Francisco Showdown” on FiatUSA.com to earn entries for a contest to win a three-day trip for two to San Francisco.
