GMC of Detroit’s General Motors to Offer Sneak Peek of Hummer EV During Super Bowl LIV

The GMC brand of Detroit’s General Motors Co. today introduced the GMC Hummer EV, an electric Hummer. A commercial offering sneak peeks of the truck will air during Sunday’s Super Bowl LIV, and a full reveal is planned for May 20 at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck plant.

The GMC brand of Detroit’s General Motors Co. today introduced the GMC Hummer EV, an electric Hummer. A commercial offering sneak peeks of the truck will air during Sunday’s Super Bowl LIV, and a full reveal is planned for May 20 at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck plant.

The truck will feature 1,000 horsepower, 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque, and will be able to go from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds. It also will have on- and off-road capabilities as well as the reduced noise and zero emissions inherent of electric vehicles.

“GMC builds premium and capable trucks and SUVs, and the GMC Hummer EV takes this to new heights,” says Duncan Aldred, vice president of global Buick and GMC. “We are excited to debut our revolutionary zero-emissions truck during the biggest night in TV advertising.”

The 30-second commercial is scheduled to air during the second quarter of the game and highlights the truck’s anticipated performance. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

GMC has been manufacturing trucks since 1902 and sells in 12 countries.
