tTotal Quality Logistics, one of the largest freight brokerage firms in the nation, opened a new office Monday in Troy Place at 3221 W. Big Beaver Rd. in Troy.
tThe company connects shippers who have truckload freight that needs to be moved with carriers who have the capacity to move it.
t“Our national satellite offices are extremely important in our ability to grow market share and continue to be the leading service provider in the third party logistics industry,” said Kerry Byrne, TQL executive vice president.
tWith the addition of the Troy office, TQL now operates 23 offices in 12 states across the country, employing nearly 2,500 people nationwide. Byrne says last year, TQL arranged the movement of more than 815,000 loads of freight and posted sales of more than $1.6 billion.
t “TQL’s new Troy location, the company’s first in Michigan, reaffirms Troy’s standing as Michigan’s premier address for business, retail, and commerce,” Troy Mayor Dane Slater said. Troy is home to around 6,000 businesses and 81,000 residents.
t“More than 90 percent of the current sales leadership within our organization has been promoted from within,” Byrne said. TQL’s office in Troy has 13 employees and is looking to hire more.
tThose interested can start the process online at tqljobs.com. Prior experience in the logistics industry is not necessary as new hires with the company participate in a 26-week training program.
tTQL was featured in the November issue of Inc. magazine as one of the top job creators in the country and recognized by the publisher of G.I Jobs magazine as one of the country’s most military friendly employees.
