Robert Jameson and Sherri Lawton-Jameson, the former owners of Detroit Mercantile Co., have launched a new business in Royal Oak that pays homage to their love of the Great Lakes State.

“There’s more to Michigan than Detroit and the automotive industry,” Sherri says. “There is great history and heritage in all corners of the state, and we think Michiganders and others with an affinity for the state will enjoy visiting our site and finding Michigan-centric products for themselves or as holiday gifts for others.”

Called Peninsulas, the Michigan-themed brand offers apparel, housewares, and stationary goods, as well as items from partners including Detroit Denim, Stormy Kromer, Revisions Studio, Tait Designs, and Green Toe Gardens.

As the husband-and-wife duo seek out a brick-and-mortar location, they are participating in a series of pop-ups and holiday showcases. From Nov. 30 to Dec. 1, they will showcase select merchandise at Leon & Lulu Artists’ Market in Clawson. They will also set up shop at the Kris Kringle Market in downtown Rochester Dec. 5-6.

Their products are available both online and in select retail stores around the state, including Yellow Dog Marketplace in Goodrich, Little Luxuries of Mackinac Island, and Boomerang Retro and Relics in Marquette.
