Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn says it knows what Ranger Raptor and Bronco Raptor owners want: more power. And now they can get it with recalibrated software from the automaker’s aftermarket parts division, Ford Performance Parts.
The updated software is for the 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine in the 2024 Ranger Raptor and the 2022-24 Bronco Raptor. The new software improves low-end torque, throttle response, and optimizes the vehicles’ shift schedule.
Ranger Raptor: Torque jumps from 430 to 536 lb.-ft., while horsepower increases from 405 to 455. Bronco Raptor: Torque increases from 440 to 536 lb.-ft. and horsepower climbs from 418 to 455.
The result is what the automaker calls “a noticeable improvement” in acceleration from a standing stop. More power, however, comes at a price, $825, or owners can use Ford Pass Reward points.
Buyers can get a 20 percent discount on the new calibration if they attend the Raptor Rally on Sept. 21. The one-day event teaches Raptor owners about driving their new vehicles in different off-road situations. It takes place at the Ford Performance Racing School in Fairfield, Utah.
The rally costs $500 and includes the vehicle, owner, and a guest. In addition to the driver education segment, attendees enjoy meet and greets with professional off-road racers, hot lap opportunities, Ford news, exclusive giveaways, meals, and more.
The calibration can be purchased online (Bronco Raptor Calibration, Ranger Raptor Calibration) to be installed at a local dealer. These calibrations meet Ford durability standards and are covered by the vehicle’s three-year, 36,000-mile Ford Performance parts warranty.
