Dearborn-based Ford Motor Co. will offer 2015 and 2016 Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT350R Mustang owners the opportunity to attend the Ford Performance Racing School in Utah to learn more about the vehicles’ performance and handling capabilities.

“GT350 is a car that needs to be experienced on a closed road course,” says Jim Owens, marketing manager of Ford Performance. “The program is designed for owners to learn how to get the most out of their car so they can appreciate the unique performance Shelby GT350 delivers, while also gaining driving skills and experience.”

Owens says the GT350 Track Attack program, located at the Utah Motorsports Campus in Tooele, near Salt Lake City, begins with an evening reception followed by a one-day performance driving school. He says motorists will participate in both classroom and on-track driving tutorials with Ford Performance Racing School instructors. They will learn high-performance driving maneuvers such as braking, shifting, and cornering techniques.

Owens says the program is included in the cost of the 2015 or 2016 Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustang, now on sale in the U.S. and Canada. He says owners don’t need to bring their car, but they do have to pay for airfare and lodging. Participants are charged for an optional second track day, as well as additional driving and non-driving programs.
