Five Iron Golf, one of the nation’s premier indoor golf and entertainment experiences, announced Wednesday it’s planning to open on the first floor of the new Cambria Hotel-Downtown Detroit in the summer of 2022.
Five Iron Golf Detroit’s approximately 24,000-square-foot venue will feature 13 TrackMan simulators with down-the-line and front-facing cameras, an expansive putting green, and custom club fitting by The Fitting Lab, a Golf Digest Top 100 Clubfitter.
Each simulator bay will enable guests to play a round with actionable data, instant video analysis, and virtual access to the world’s greatest courses.
It also will offer a food menu, full-service bar, numerous widescreen TVs, pool, shuffleboard, and, for the first time in Five Iron Golf history, two bowling lanes. Other offerings will include casual play, leagues, private lessons, clinics, and social events.

Dunnan says Five Iron Golf Detroit will continue the company’s signature design aesthetic by creating a multi-sensory interior through the blending of graffiti, murals from local artists, neon signs, and modern lounge furniture. The atmosphere promises to “fuse energy and playfulness with comfort.”
The Koucar Management real estate firm in Troy assisted in bringing Five Iron Golf to the Motor City.
Five Iron Golf Detroit and the Cambria Hotel-Downtown Detroit, also slated to open in 2022, will be located at 600 West Lafayette Blvd (at Third Street).
The hotel will feature 158 upscale guest rooms, celebrity chef curated Italian restaurant Cibo Detroit, fast casual dining at Detroit Taco Co., Beve lobby bar, Cielo rooftop bar, and Balla Nightclub among other amenities.
Construction on Five Iron Golf Detroit is scheduled to begin this fall.
Five Iron Golf was founded in New York in 2017 and has since expanded to Chicago, Baltimore, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Washington, D.C.
