Krazy Fit Detroit, a fitness studio specializing in using bungee cords and kangoo boots when working out, opened its doors in Allen Park on June 3.
The studio is located at 5127 Allen Rd., and the studio’s workout method is designed to maximize workouts without strain and injury to the joints. Classes are available to anyone at least 12 years of age.
“We wanted to provide a fun way to exercise for everyone, no matter where they are in their fitness journey,” says Dione Johnson, co-founder of Krazy Fit Detroit. “My husband and I both have been in the nursing field for 24 years, and we’ve seen all types of injuries. These workouts are great for cardio, core, flexibility, and balance.”
André Johnson, Dione Johnson’s husband, also is co-founder.
Bungee Fit is a 20-minute workout that includes squats, jumping jacks, pushups, and burpees while being connected to the bungee rope, which allows for low-impact resistance training and stretching and is designed to increase blood flow and metabolism.
Jump Fit is a 45-minute workout in kangoo boots, which reduce impact shock and improve core strength and balance. The workout is designed to increase endurance, serve as a cardiovascular workout, and induce fat loss.
Classes are available in the morning and evening Monday-Saturday. Drop-in classes start at $15, and packages and personal training are also available. The first class is free.
More information and registration are available here. The original Krazy Fit is in Cleveland. The couple plan to open more Michigan locations.
