The founders of Farmington Hills-based Gentleman’s Box will host the Subscription Summit, the first conference for those who work in or alongside the subscription box industry, Sept. 21-22 at the Atheneum Hotel in Detroit.

“We operate the Gentleman’s Box, and while we were trying to further our knowledge and meet other people in the industry and meet other box companies to find out what they’re doing right or lessons learned, we realized there was no conference,” says Paul Chambers, co-founder of the Subscription Summit. “We created the Subscription Summit to bring all the other box companies around the world together.”

The conference, which is designed for subscription box company owners, those that work for subscription companies in any capacity, and those that may be considering a subscription component to a business, will cover topics such as the state of influencer marketing, making the most of blogger relationships, e-commerce trends, and international shipping.

Networking opportunities, breakout sessions, and presentations from executives at Izea, Asendia USA, Evolucity Commerce, FedEx, Vinyl Me Please, FabFitFun, Birchbox, My Subscription Addiction, and more, will also take place during the two-day event.

Chambers says that 150 people from around the country are expected to attend the Subscription Summit, which will host conferences annually throughout the country in the coming years.

“We we wanted to host (the first Subscription Summit) in Detroit because it’s close to our home and we’re very passionate about the city,” he says. “We do intend to expand on that.”

Tickets for the conference, located at 1000 Brush St., start at $450 for a Networking Pass, which includes full access to both conference days, full access to all keynote and breakout sessions, and breakfast and lunch provided for both days.

DBusiness readers can purchase discounted tickets for the conference for $100 by using the code DET at checkout.
