Faurecia in Auburn Hills Invests in Silicon Valley Wireless Charging Company

Auburn Hills’ Faurecia today announced it has invested in Powersphyr, a Silicon Valley start-up, to accelerate its solutions for a smart and connected cockpit.

Powersphyr provides wireless charging solutions focused on automotive, consumer, and industrial markets, incorporating near-field and far-field power delivery techniques.

“The best-in-class wireless solutions developed by Powersphyr are crucial to enhance the user connectivity experience inside the next generation of cockpit,” says David Weill, vice president of marketing and business development for Faurecia Interiors.

“The synergies that exist between Powersphyr, Parrot Automotive, and Coagent Electronics will make our offering more relevant for our customers and will enable us to propose complete, smart, seamless connectivity and infotainment solutions into the vehicle.”

The investment was made by Faurecia Ventures, which identifies, incubates, and invests in start-ups for Faurecia.

Faurecia was founded in 1997 and has 290 sites in 35 countries with its global headquarters in France. It works in automotive seating, interior systems, and clean mobility.
