Farmington Hills-based Dryer Vent Wizard, a cleaning and maintenance services company for dryer vents, has expanded this year with seven new franchises in the United States and Canada, and plans to open 12-15 more outlets in markets such as Chicago, St. Louis, and Texas and one in Calgary, Alberta early next year.
“Although Dryer Vent Wizard is still a young company, we have experienced year-over-year growth, even during the most difficult economic downturn of the past decade,” says Terry Reuer, CEO of Dryer Vent Wizard.
Reuer says in 2015, franchises opened in New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas, along with the Canadian provinces of British Colombia and Ontario. She expects three more franchises in Michigan, in locations such as Muskegon and Traverse City, to open within the next few years.
Reuer says Dryer Vent Wizard, founded in 2004, has more than 70 franchise owners operating businesses servicing nearly 9,000 communities throughout the United States and Canada. The company specializes in dryer vent repair, replacement, alteration, cleaning, and maintenance for residential and commercial clients. Franchisees also educate customers about proper dryer maintenance, regular check-ups, energy savings, and fire prevention.
Reuer says about 15,500 dryer fires occur in the United States each year due to clogged dryer vents.
