Skinphorea, a new spa with a facial bar concept, is opening its first location on Oct. 13 in downtown Royal Oak. The spa has plans to open two more locations in Michigan, as well as additional outlets across the country.
The 1,326-square-foot spa, to be located at 621 S. Washington Ave., will offer a selection of customizable, 30-minute vegan facial “cocktails,” including chemical peels, enzyme peels, LED light therapy, microdermabrasion, and oxygen facials. There are also express facials as well as extended services such as waxing, eyelash extensions, and private party rentals.
Other offerings include the Brightening Espresso, which is focused on reversing the signs of sun damage, and The Margarita on the Rocks, which is designed to treat acne prone skin and breakouts.
Add-on facial services, called shots, are also available for $10, and include a variety of treatments that can firm, exfoliate, and moisturize the eyes, lips, and neck area. Complimentary drinks or smoothies made from all-natural ingredients will also be available to customers.
“As women are becoming more health-conscious and wanting to look and feel their best to excel in the workforce, my business partner, Shareese Shorter, and I wanted to change the dynamics and improve on the standard facial experience,” says Jessica Hayes-Stallings, founder and co-owner of Skinphorea. “We also wanted to bring skin education back to the forefront of the spa industry as well as incorporate express skin services for women on-the-go, without breaking their budgets.”
Skinphorea, which will operate from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, will staff up to seven employees.
