Dynfly, a hair color bar offering color treatment in 60 minutes or less, has opened its first franchise location at 56273 Van Dyke Ave. in Shelby Township. Franchise owners are Alphonse J. Deeby, Kevin J. Mitzel, and James Mallo, who formed Top Dye LLC.
The team plans to open additional dynfly franchises in metro Detroit. The two original locations in Troy and Canton are corporate locations.
“With an estimated 75 percent of women coloring their hair in a salon or at home, dynfly’s concept and franchise opportunity immediately appealed to us based on its proven track record and the expert team behind the brand,” says Mallo. “We are pleased to be part of the dynfly family and look forward to bringing its philosophy and services to Macomb County and beyond.”
Dynfly offers everything from touchups to full color treatments. Colorists keep customers’ dye colors on file, so they get the same color every time. Customers can leave with wet hair if they are in a hurry or can use salon-quality styling tools and products at a finishing bar.
Launched in 2014, dynfly began franchising in October 2018. Since then, it has sold 10 franchises. In addition to the Shelby Township location, salons are slated to open this fall in Rochester and Livonia. The company plans for seven to 10 new salons in 2020 and is in the process of expanding franchise sales outside of Michigan.
The 1,600-square-foot Shelby Township color bar will employ 15 licensed and professionally trained colorists. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. More information and scheduling are available here or by calling (586) 232-4615.
The single-service salon was launched first in Troy in 2014 by George Nikollaj, co-owner of 6 Salon in Birmingham and Royal Oak. Cliff Lunney, president of Bloomfield Hills’ CWL Investments, is a franchise expert and partner of the venture.
