You can live like a pizza billionaire for a mere $8.75 million.
Domino’s Founder and former Detroit Tigers owner Tom Monaghan has listed his 30-acre Retreat at Turtle Point estate in Ann Arbor, complete with a 12-bedroom main residence, a guest house, caretaker’s quarters, and a massive private recreation complex, for $8.75 million.
Monaghan completed construction on the Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired estate in 1996. The main home covers almost 10,000 square feet and features high ceilings, large panes of glass, and organic materials consistent with Wright projects.
Also included is a 4,100-square-foot guest residence and a 1,980-square-foot caretaker’s house.
“You could imagine a house of this size, it was a multi-year build to do that,” listing agent Brent Flewelling with Charles Reinhart Co. in Chelsea told The New York Post. “The lot was picked out to be overlooking the valley. That is one of the higher points of the property.”
As impressive as the living quarters are, most of the oohs and aahs are reserved for the estate’s recreation facilities. The new owners of the Retreat at Turtle Point can avail themselves to 34,000-square-foot indoor complex outfitted with a basketball court, pickleball and racquetball courts, a full gym, a massage room, an indoor pool, a hot tub, a sauna, and an indoor ice rink complete with a Zamboni.
Other amenities include a private golf course, a barn, a windmill, a playground, outdoor tennis court, a craft room, a green house, a bocce ball court, a three-story treehouse, and a car wash.
“The Retreat at Turtle Point in Ann Arbor is the most blank check mansion we’ve ever seen in Michigan,” says Zillow Gone Wild.
The Team Flewelling listing says: “The Retreat at Turtle Point is an extraordinary blend of architectural design and peaceful setting, creating a private oasis that is only seven minutes from the city of Ann Arbor.”
