Auburn Hills-based FCA US LLC has eliminated about half of the 2016 Dodge Dart lineup and will now offer three models for the remainder of the model year: the SXT Sport, Turbo, and GT Sport. Dealers can begin ordering the vehicles this month.

“We are repositioning the Dart lineup to better align production and dealer inventory with consumer demand and preference,” says Tim Kuniskis, head of passenger car brands – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler, and Fiat at FCA – North America. “The simplification of Dart models, coupled with the availability of popular Rallye, Blacktop, and Chrome appearance packages across more of the line-up, makes it easier for dealers to order and stock vehicles that customers are looking for.”

Kuniskis says the Dart SXT Sport will now start at $17,995, $1,400 less than the current SXT model. The vehicle has a two-liter engine that produces 160 horsepower and nearly 150 pounds per feet of torque. The vehicle has 16-inch aluminum wheels, body-color crosshair grille with body-color surround, chrome headlamp bezels, black cloth seats, and a remote USB port.

The Dodge Dart Turbo, which starts at $19,495, has a 1.4-liter engine delivering 160 horsepower and more than 180 pounds per feet of torque. The car includes a sport appearance hood, integrated dual exhaust, a black grille surround with black crosshair, and 17-inch aluminum wheels.

The Dart GT Sport will be priced at $20,995, a price decrease of $1,100 from the Dart GT it replaces. The vehicle has a 2.4-liter engine producing more than 180 horsepower. The car has a push-button start, 17-inch aluminum wheels, an integrated dual exhaust with bright tips, a seven-inch full-color digital gauge cluster display, and a rear backup camera.

Kuniskis says the SXT Sport cars are available in three different appearance packages. Packages include Chrome, with a bright grille and door handles; Rallye, with a black crosshair grille with black surround, fog lamps, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel; and Blacktop, with a black crosshair grille with black surround, fog lamps with black fog lamp spear and bezel, and gloss black exterior mirrors.
