Flint’s Diplomat Pharmacy Inc. and CSI Specialty Group in Florida Monday announced they have launched a program for hospitals and health systems interested in starting or expanding their own specialty pharmacy services.
Diplomat is a nationwide provider of specialty pharmacy and infusion services and offers a limited-distribution drug portfolio and expertise treating rare, chronic, and complex diseases.
CSI is a specialty pharmacy consulting firm and offers solutions that optimize access to specialty medications.

The program is designed to address barriers to effective care and increase coordination across health-care teams, says Robyn Peters, executive vice president of sales and payer strategies at Diplomat.

In related news, Diplomat was selected by Hospitality Rx as the exclusive provider of specialty pharmacy and infusion services for its Unite Here Health plan members. Unite Here Health in Illinois is a multiemployer union plan that provides health benefits to about 250,000 members across the nation.
Diplomat will provide services including specialty product fulfillment, reimbursement support, clinical assistance and adherence programs, and data reporting and analytics.
