A collection of Motown memorabilia, including the Temptations’ tour itinerary and photos of the Supremes and Marvin Gaye, among others, will be auctioned Friday by DuMouchelles Fine Art Appraisers and Auctioneers.

“I think it would be a great addition for anyone that has any kind of Motown collection at all,” says Jerry Anderson, director of memorabilia for DuMouchelles. “There are a lot of behind-the-scenes (items).”

The collection is offered from a former road manager (who chooses to remain anonymous) for the Supremes, Four Tops, and Marvin Gaye.

Anderson says items in the collection range from a black-and-white publicity photo of Marvin Gaye, a $10,000 copy of a money order made out to Gaye, a black-and-white publicity photo of the Supremes, an itinerary of the Supremes’ 1969-1970 tour schedule, and a three-ring binder with the itinerary for the Temptations’ tour dates from 1968 to 1973.

Anderson says he expects the collection of items to go for $1,500 to $2,500.

DuMouchelles Fine Art Appraisers and Auctioneers will also auction off paintings, watercolors, drawings, graphics, and sculptures from the estate of John and Carol Booth of Birmingham on Sunday.
