Amber Engine in Detroit has announced the launch of its product information management solution designed to help furniture manufacturers sell directly to consumers online.

Retail ecommerce sales of home furnishings are growing, and home furnishings manufacturers who have historically relied on a large retailer base are preparing to sell directly to consumers to the first time. Amber’s solution is designed to streamline the process of distributing products to various sales channels and online marketplaces.

“At Amber Engine, our mission has always been to empower retailers and vendors in the home furnishings space,” says Jennifer Gilbert, CEO. “By launching our product information management platform, we’re developing tech solutions that will help bridge the gap between online shopping and brick-and-mortar stores, and we’re providing retailers and vendors the tools they need to succeed in the new economy.”

Amber’s solution is designed to be user-friendly. It centralizes all product data in a master catalog and exports directly to templates for online marketplaces and ecommerce. It is expected to be less expensive, less complex to implement, and require less customization than other solutions.

The solution also facilitates easy communication of product catalog data between manufacturers and retailers.
