Detroit Wing Co. in Eastpointe plans to open 20 locations by the end of the year as the enterprise sees rising demand for its all-natural chicken wings, mac n’ cheese, French fries, 20 house-made signature sauces, and desserts.

New locations are planned for Allen Park, Ann Arbor, Brighton, Howell, Lansing, Roseville, Warren, Waterford Township, and White Lake Township. Other additions will be announced in the coming weeks.

In addition, Detroit Wing Co. has announced the opening of its newest location at 36741 Van Dyke Ave. in Sterling Heights. With the new store, the company has 14 locations in Michigan.

The Sterling Heights location joins Eastpointe and Chesterfield Township, giving the company three locations in Macomb County, where the brand first launched in 2015.

“Since our first day open, the Sterling Heights community has welcomed us with open arms and great enthusiasm. Simply put — we’re ready and eager to build a great relationship with this community for years to come,” says Dennis Theodorou, co-owner of Detroit Wing Co. in Sterling Heights.

Since its first store, the brand has ranked among the best spots for wings by national media outlets such as Esquire magazine, Men’s Health, Delish.com, MSNBC, and INSIDER.com, and has been voted “Best Chicken Wings” by the readers of HOUR Detroit magazine, WDIV-TV/NBC Channel 4 viewers, and more.

“Based on the incredibly positive reception we’ve had in Macomb County since day one, opening a store in a great community like Sterling Heights was a natural next move,” says Gus Malliaras, founder and president of Detroit Wing Co. “We couldn’t be more excited to grow our roots in this community.”

To assist with its expansion efforts, Malliaras has opened a small commissary kitchen behind its store in Eastpointe to produce its handmade sauces. The company plans to open a larger commissary kitchen, likely in Detroit, in the next two years.

Signature sauces include Classic Buffalo, Creole Parmesan, Honey Chipotle, Whiskey BBQ, and Sweet Heat. In addition, other menu offerings include coleslaw, cornbread muffins, cheesecake, along with Faygo beverages and other drinks.

Detroit Wing Co. was featured in DBusiness magazine in 2019, which can be found here. Malliaras also was selected as a DBusiness 30 in Their Thirties honoree in 2020, which can be found here.
