Detroit Red Wings Unveil Details of this Weekend’s Hockeytown Centennial FanFest

The Detroit Red Wings will be celebrating their 100th season with the Hockeytown Centennial FanFest on Nov. 6-9 at the MotorCity Casino in Detroit with activities, displays, and appearances by team legends.

The event will feature a journey through Hockeytown history with a pop-up museum, along with photo opportunities, interactive experiences, and skills challenges. The weekend also will offer special guest appearances, autograph sessions with alumni who have worn the Winged Wheel, family-friendly activities, Q&A sessions, and exclusive merchandise.

The event opens on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m. On Friday, Nov. 7, the FanFest will be open from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

Also on Nov. 7, fans can take part in a Watch Party, powered by DTE, at MotorCity Casino Hotel’s Sound Board from 6:30-10 p.m. for that night’s game against the New York Rangers. All fans with Hockeytown Centennial FanFest tickets for Friday can join the party, with seating available on a first-served basis. A live Q&A will take place with Red Wings personalities on stage before the game and during intermissions.

FanFest’s Nov. 8 hours are from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. On Sunday, Nov. 9, the event will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., including a Watch Party, powered by DTE, at Sound Board from 12:30-4 p.m. for that afternoon’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Features include:

  • 100 Years of Hockeytown Exhibit, presented by Meijer, offering authentic artifacts, rare archival materials, and interpretive displays that trace the evolution of the team from its origin through present day.
  • A Tribute to Champions: Stanley Cup Replica Trophy Display.
  • Step into the Moment, which allows fans to learn about the team’s history with an immersive projection experience that transports fans directly into the team’s most iconic plays.
  • Penalty Box Hot Take, presented by Meijer.
  • Be the Broadcaster Booth, presented by FanDuel Sports Network.
  • Hockey Skills Challenges, presented by DTE.
  • Kids Zone, presented by Meijer.
  • Championship Parade AI Photobooth, presented by Chevrolet.
  • Hockey Skills Challenge, presented by Body Armor.
  • CAT Fan Experience.
  • Face Painting.

Throughout the weekend event, Red Wings alumni including Sergei Federov, Steve Yzerman, Henrik Zetterberg, Vladimir Konstantinov, Tomas Holmstrom, Chris Chelios, Brendan Shanahan, Mickey Redmond, and others will be participating in Q&As and be available to sign autographs.
