The Detroit Pistons and Palace Sports and Entertainment in Auburn Hills today announced a partnership with FanDuel, a company that manages daily fantasy sports games. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Elements of the partnership include assigning FanDuel as the “Official Fantasy Gaming Partner” of the team. The deal also extends exclusive naming rights to what will now be called FanDuel Club 300, a social space that offers lounge seating, high top tables, bars, and open views of the arena.
“We strive to give our fans one of the most innovative, technologically advanced experiences in sports, and this partnership with FanDuel is a perfect way to further engage our followers,” says Dennis Mannion, president and CEO of Palace Sports and Entertainment.
Besides the Pistons, Fanduel has an exclusive 4-year deal with the National Basketball Association that includes partnerships with 13 other NBA teams. In turn, the NBA has an equity stake in the daily fantasy sports company.
“The (2015-16) season will bring opportunities for us to reach Pistons fans, execute activations that get fans closer to the action, and work with a great organization,” says Nigel Eccles, CEO and co-founder of FanDuel
During all home games, 10 mobile ambassadors will circle the concourse and show fans how to log-on to free Wi-Fi, access FanDuel on the official Detroit Pistons mobile app, and pass out promo codes to try FanDuel.
Fans that have the Pistons mobile app and tune in to Fox Sports Detroit or Detroit Sports 105.1 also will have opportunities to receive promo codes to play FanDuel.
